'Amore e Follia' is born on clayey and calcareous soils, where grapes of Syrah (90%), Merlot (5%) and Sangiovese (5%) grow,
You expect to taste those authentic flavors of the Montalcinese territory, to immerse yourself with a sip in those breathtaking landscapes that surround Podere Le Ripi.
Instead, although the aromatic texture envelops you in the wild smells of those fascinating and wonderful places, the first sip reveals all the taste of Syrah, with its tannic softness, a good dose of minerality and a bitterish aftertaste that caresses the palate and closes on a pleasant finish and good persistence.
The grapes, harvested by hand between September and October, first undergo fermentation and maceration in the open air, then 25 days in oak vats, and then aging for 24 months in oak barrels.
After ageing in bottle for 6 months, the wine is ready to be sipped to conquer the palates of its tasters.
Podere le Ripi is a biodynamic winery in Castelnuovo dell’Abate. It was founded in 1998 by Francesco Illy, a nature photographer with the idea of creating something extremely beautiful, healthy and sustainable with a socially positive approach.
