Guidalberto" was born from the will of Nicolò Incisa della Rocchetta, Mario's son, to try his hand with Merlot as well. Despite the fact that the backbone of Tenuta San Guido's Toscana IGT "Guidalberto", born in 2000, remains cabernet sauvignon, the one not used in Sassicaia, merlot gives a certain softness and a fruit of great envelopment, thus offering the consumer a product capable of being consumed even in youth.
Ruby red, it is characterized by an extremely fine and variegated olfactory texture. Cherry and plum are the notes that introduce floral scents enriched by tones of tobacco and licorice. In the mouth it is very elegant, a tannin never intrusive and an unexpected freshness support a taste of great composure and responsiveness. The finish is also beautiful, of rare persistence.
