Carpineto - Brunello of Montalcino DOCG 2015 Wine - Brunello Wine Tasting Episode 9 of 31

Filippo visits Carpineto Winery in Montalcino, and tasting the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015

A winery with over 45 years in the making, and with the love of two families and friends, Carpineto offers both a warming experience and place to visit during travels in Montalcino, seeking out the area’s most beloved wineries.

Born from an interest piqued in Chianti wines, the founders and producers of Carpineto, Giancarlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo, developed their initial wine estate in the heart of Chianti into a genuine miniature Tuscan dynasty, all focused around the production of organic, top-quality Tuscan wines.

What we’re discovering today with our grapetrotter, Filippo Bartolotta, is the Brunello di Montalcino arm of Carpineto, a wine that has been admired and respected by the international wine press over the past decades.  And with excellent reason.  As Filippo walks us through the tasting of Carpineto’s Brunello di Montalcino 2015 selection, we’ll discover what makes the Carpineto wine so unique and memorable in a region where wines produced are almost entirely memorable and desirable.

What are some of the natural elements that shine through in the Carpineto Brunello di Montalcino 2015 wine?  Let’s take a closer look and see if we can put our fingers on what makes us love the Carpineto wine estate so much.  We could already chalk it up to their passion for wine, their dedication to organic biodynamic wine production, their emphasis on family-run values, their philosophy of quality and not quantity - there are virtually endless reasons, so let’s explore them together with Filippo.
