Split into 5 different wine estates, the Collemattoni is a charming family-run wine estate with decades of history and roots tied to the Montalcino area.  Originally an agricultural focus was guiding the Bucci family, today’s owners of Collemattoni, the emphasis of producing the Collemattoni Brunello di Montalcino wines has always been tied to the land, to understanding natural cycles and how the environment can have an effect on the resulting Brunello wines.

Filippo Bartolotta, Italian grapetrotter and deep admirer of Brunello wines, leads us through a tasting experience of the Collemattoni Brunello di Montalcino 2015 selection.  Intrigued to discover what makes this Brunello wine such a classic, and so desirable?

In addition to bringing this family-run wine estate to high levels of wine-crafting, the winery also have an admirable dedication to ensuring eco-friendly wine production and overall respect for the land that has given this family so much.  With the ability to collect natural-falling rainwater and photovoltaic panels lining the cantinas, the Collemattoni winery also is leading the way for the future of eco-friendly wine production.  So it’s not just delicious, it’s also admirable wine!  What’s not to love?
