Exploring Amarone Wine, Tommasi

Elegance and charme are defining characteristics of the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG.

The Tommasi family has been excelling at producing spectacular wines we all want to try, or at least, you’ll want to try after watching more videos on their wines.  Let’s dive right into the most historic of the Tommasi wine estates, the La Groletta vineyards in the heart of the Valpolicella wine region in Northern Italy’s Veneto region, with Filippo Bartolotta, Mamablip’s Italian wine expert and genuine Amarone admirer.

Everything about this Tommasi estate selection, from its vintage 1970s label to its alluring dark aromas, begs to be tasted by all those who have a deep, genuine appreciation for fine Italian wines.  And for those who aren’t yet initiated into the club, well, get ready to be!  The Tommasi family has made sustainable, non-interventionist wines a guiding philosophy, and the single Cru vineyards at La Groletta are no exception to this rule.

Elegance and charm are defining characteristics of the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
DOCG selection, and Filippo will lead us through an exploration of what to expect when you crack open a bottle of this remarkable Amarone 2016 vintage.  La Groletta is known for their harvest of Corvina grapes, a difficult varietal to manage, but Tommasi has done so with grace and great dignity.  You’ll definitely be adding this Valpolicella vintage to your wine bucket list.
