Gold Medal Champion Federica Pellegrini honours the 2020 Brunello harvest at with a 5 star rating the Benvenuto Brunello event
Gold medal swimmer at the 2008 Beijing Olympics Federica Pellegrini is the sports ambasador for the Brunello di Montalcino 2020 harvest. Federica announced the Five star rating attributed to the 2020 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino during the Benvenuto Brunello event. Pellegrini created a commemorative ceramic tile with the 5 star vintage rating and with a drawing that reproduces one of her tattoos: the Arab Phoenix. The tile was affixed on the wall of the Montalcino Town Hall by Mayor Silvio Franceschelli and Fabrizio Bindocci, president of the Consorzio del Brunello. "The phoenix arabe is a sign of good omen and rebirth for wine and for all of us", said Bindocci.
