Pietroso - Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016 - Brunello Wine Tasting

Today, Filippo tastes the Brunello di Montalcino 2016 from the Pietroso Wine Estate.

One of the Montalcino area’s more recent wine estates, Pietroso has been excelling at producing high-quality Brunello di Montalcino wines since their inception in the 1970s.  A wine estate with family roots running towards a deep passion for the Montalcino lands, the Pignattai family’s fervor and devotion to their lands can be felt in the very wines they produce.

With a relatively small annual production focusing on the creation of quality wines rather than quantity wines, the Pignattai family’s mission is one we can easily get behind.  Ruby-red and entrancing, the Brunello 2016 vintage expresses a sensation of innate elegance the Pietroso Brunello wines typically feature.

Thanks to the typical Montalcino micro-climates, the Pietroso wine estate has vineyard parcels each with individual climatic characteristics that allow the Pietroso grapes to produce well-balanced, reliably wonderful wines that are enjoyable at any meal in your day!

Featuring hand-processing for the most delicate moments of the Brunello wine production, classic Slavonian aging, and a dedication to making the absolute most of their lands, the Pignattai family, assisted by enologist Alessandro Dondi, are today producing a classic Brunello di Montalcino wine selection, particularly this 2015 Brunello vintage, that is one of the more enjoyable vintages in the Montalcino market.
