Tenuta Fanti - Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Vallocchio 2016 - Wine Tasting

Let's taste Tenuta Fanti's Brunello di Montalcino 2016 with Filippo Bartolotta

A classic Tuscan family-run wine estate with the future in their bottles, the Fanti family winery is a rare gem that has seen the future, and it’s green.

With very careful attention dedicated to production methods, harvesting techniques, grape growth, and bottling principles, the Fanti wine estate is a leader both in quality Brunello di Montalcino wines as well as in targeted sustainable wine-making intended to bring the Fanti wine estate well into the Green future.

The Fanti family, long-established in the Montalcino area, has wine-making and agricultural understanding deep with the family’s local roots.

Initially utilizing the vast swathes of Montalcino lands for agricultural-only use, it wasn’t until the early 1970s that Filippo Fanti, today’s owner, opted for a major change of scenery, and transformed the family’s land holdings into a strictly vineyard-only operation. But we’re sure glad they opted for such a dramatic change, as the Fanti’s Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Vallocchio 2016 is now ours, or really, Filippo Bartolotta’s for the tasting. The resulting 2016 Brunello Vallocchio verdict from Mamablip’s Tuscan wine expert?

A fine, smooth Brunello selection, with definite lines of deep red fruits. A gloriously rich ruby red, Filippo gives us the full run-down on all elements of this fine Brunello di Montalcino vintage from Fanti. Filippo and Elisa Fanti hit the mark again on the 2016 vintage - you'll want to taste it out yourself as well!
