The origins of the Val di Suga wine estate were so different from what we see today. 1988 brought about the purchase of the Spuntali plot, arguably one of Montalcino’s most prized locations in the Brunello di Montalcino territory. And it’s just from this very plot that Filippo is tasting today’s selection, Val di Suga Vigna’s Spuntali Brunello 2016 vintage. Part of the Bertani Domain, after having been developed into a powerhouse by the Angelini family group (of Italian healthcare and wellness fame), the winery today is developing astonishingly high-quality Brunello wines you won’t want to miss tasting.
