If you have the time and are feeling adventurous, you can also flavor the butter with herbs (even basil broken up by hand and then mixed with the butter at room temperature.
For a dramatic effect, you can use a small sac à poche to create 'little flowers' of butter.
If you like butter and anchovy croutons as much as we do, you can take small milk or oil sandwiches and make them for lunch instead of as an appetizer or entree.

Slice the tuscan bread or baguette or bread to a thickness of about 1/2 inch.
Heat a grill and toast the bread slices, or put them in a toaster or in the oven for a couple of minutes.

Add a noisette of butter on the bread. If you feel adventurous, you can set the butter aside until it becomes room temperature and mix some herbs in it (any herb can do, but we suggest shredding the basil with your hands.

Finally, add a fillet of anchovy on each bread slice.
Decorate with a basil leaf or a little boiled chicory leaf or parsley if you like. Some lemon zest also complements your bruschetta in the perfect way
