Homemade mushroom pizza is a joy for the whole family, a crunchy, mouth-watering dish with a unique aroma.

It is easily prepared and is excellent all year round, both in summer and winter.

Ingredients

for 4 servings

Fresh Pizza dough ingredients

  • All-purpose flour 200 grams
  • Salt 2 grams
  • Water 120 grams
  • Instant yeast 3 grams

Cooked Tomato Sauce for Pizza Ingredients

  • Canned tomato 1 kg
  • Garlic Cloves 1
  • Basil (Leaves) as needed
  • Salt as needed
  • Extra-virgin olive oil cup

Mushroom Pizza Ingredients

  • Porcini mushrooms 200 grams

Make the Pizza Dough

To make and prepare your pizza base, please follow our simple instructions for home-made fresh pizza dough HERE.

Prepare the tomato sauce

Mushroom pizza can be made both with or without tomato sauce. 

We like our pizza 'saucy', so get the recipe for pizza tomato sauce HERE!

Prepare the mushrooms and complete the pizza

Carefully clean the mushrooms, being sure to remove all residue from the ground. 

Do not wash them directly under running water as the mushrooms can absorb additional liquid during this process.  Cut mushrooms into thin slices. 

Ten minutes before the pizza is ready, arrange mushrooms on top of the tomato and let cook in high-temperature (pre-heated) oven for 10 minutes at most. 

Be sure to periodically check on your pizza to be sure the color is correct on the bottom.

Fresh pizza toppings

Pizza - can a person ever get sick of eating pizza? I'm not always a mushroom person, but love them on pizza and this way of making almost artisanal Italian pizza is a way I'll be making it from now on.
