Emilia romagna: a roman land

The term "emilia romagna" derives from an ancient Latin phrase meaning "Roman land". Bologna is known for its rich culture and diversity.

Bologna is also famous for its cuisine that has developed over the centuries to be rich in flavors from different cultures. Wines of Emilia Romagna are among the best ones of Italy. This is because the region has an almost perfect climate for the production of wine, with hot and dry summers and cold winters. Grapes cultivated in this region are particularly suited for the production of wines with high sugar levels and low acidity.

The region has more than 100 grape varieties, all autochthonous to the region. Some of them are Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pignolo.
