This video is the first episode of the Miracle of Montalcino, six weekend episodes to discover Brunello, the Oasis of Montalcino and the wonderful territory.

An arid, dry land, filled with obstacles;  a group of folks who unfailingly stuck to their dream and vision of renewing and rebuilding their land in the midst of a terrible post-war poverty;  a story of courage and community.  These are all elements that define Brunello di Montalcino, lending it an air of miraculous rejuvenation.  We like to call it the Miracle of Montalcino, and together with renowned journalist Filippo Bartolotta, we're about the bring you on an exploration of just how this miracle was accomplished.

Together with the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino, we'll explore the local history and lore across six episodes of Montalcino adventures.  The Consorzio is a major reference point for a variety of wineries and wine estates in the Montalcino area, and provides assistance and feedback for family-run and larger estates producing the fabled Brunello wines we have come to love deeply.

Let's kick off our journey together with Filippo as we explore the physical lands of the Montalcino area - watch "The Oasis," together with your loved ones, and begin dreaming about your future visits to explore and taste the highlights of this spectacular Tuscan land.  Filippo is kicking off this series the right way, and next up, we'll take a more in-depth look into the human side of things:  the wines and the wine-makers who are helping to add to the already remarkable cache this gorgeous Tuscan wine-making land enjoys.

Let’s jump-start the weekend with two excellent Brunello di Montalcino 2015 offereings:  Tenute Nardi, and Banfi Poggio alle Mura.  Two Brunello wines to inspire a great weekend of tasting ahead!
